Terms of Service — Answer Line AI

Effective date: October 30, 2026 · Last updated: October 30, 2026

Answer Line AI is an AI phone-answering and booking service for local businesses, operated by Softbuildsapps LLC of Salt Lake City, Utah ("Answer Line AI", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. Questions can be sent through the contact page.

1. The service

Answer Line AI answers calls forwarded from your business line, performs intake using scripts configured for your trade, books appointments and jobs into your configured calendar, escalates urgent calls to your on-call contacts, takes messages, and gives you call recordings, transcripts and job records in the app. Depending on your plan and configuration, the service also includes missed-call text-back, two-way texting on your business number, estimate follow-ups, review requests, integrations you connect (such as Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, Jobber, ServiceTitan and Housecall Pro), and reporting.

Features that depend on a third-party connection or on live calling being activated are available only while that connection or activation is in place. When a data source or feature is unavailable, the service says so rather than estimating silently.

2. The test-call gate and pilots

Setup ends with a live test call made together with you. You are not billed until that test call passes — the gate is enforced by the product, not just promised: billing cannot start for an account whose test call has not passed. If forwarding cannot be verified, your account stays in setup. Accounts may begin with the 14-day after-hours pilot described in our Pilot Terms, which are part of these terms.

3. Plans, fees and billing

4. The AI assistant — capabilities and limits

The assistant works from the business facts, services, prices and rules you configure:

5. Emergencies — not a substitute for 911

Answer Line AI is not an emergency service. Callers who describe an emergency are directed to call 911 and are run through scripted safety steps, then escalated to your on-call contacts. Our escalation alerts your contacts; it does not dispatch police, fire or medical responders, and it must never be presented to your customers as a substitute for 911 or for a staffed dispatch operation.

6. Recordings and disclosure

Every call answered by the service begins with a spoken disclosure that the caller is speaking with an automated assistant and that the call is recorded. Calls are recorded so you can audit bookings and so we can run quality review. Our Call Recording & AI Disclosure Notice explains how disclosure works, your responsibilities for recording-consent compliance in your state, and who can access recordings.

7. Text messaging

Where texting is activated on your account, the service sends and receives text messages as described in our Text Messaging Terms, which are part of these terms. Those terms cover the consent basis for each message type, frequency, and STOP/HELP handling. You are responsible for the accuracy of the customer contact information and estimate records your messaging is based on.

8. Connected accounts

If you connect a third-party account (such as Google Calendar through Google OAuth, Microsoft Outlook, Jobber, ServiceTitan or Housecall Pro), you grant Answer Line AI the access described at connection time, used solely to provide the connected feature — for calendars, checking availability and creating the booking events you configure. Connections use your own authorization; credentials and tokens are stored on our servers and are never exposed through the app. You may disconnect at any time, which ends that access and deletes the stored credential. Your use of third-party services remains governed by their own terms. How we handle Google user data is described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Your responsibilities

10. Intellectual property

The Answer Line AI platform, software, scripts framework and branding belong to Softbuildsapps LLC. Your business data — your facts, job records, recordings and transcripts — remains yours; you grant us the license needed to process it to operate the service. Call recordings and transcripts for your business are available to your account as described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Service availability and changes

The service is provided "as is" and as available. We apply commercially reasonable efforts to keep Answer Line AI accurate, available and secure, but we do not warrant uninterrupted operation or that third-party services (carriers, voice and calendar providers) will always be available or error-free. We may improve or change features over time. Material changes to these terms will be posted on this page with a new effective date, and continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Softbuildsapps LLC's total liability arising from or related to the service is limited to the amounts you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, including lost profits, lost jobs or lost business opportunities. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes arising from these terms or the service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Utah, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

14. Termination

You may stop using Answer Line AI and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these terms, non-payment, or misuse of the service. On termination, your right to use the service ends; data handling after cancellation follows our Privacy Policy and, for business customers, the Data Processing Addendum.

15. White-label partners

If you access the service through a white-label partner, your contract for the service may be with that partner under the Partner Terms; these terms still govern your use of the platform itself where they do not conflict with your partner agreement.
